Laura MacKay
Dr. Laura MacKay is Interim Dean of Langara College’s Faculty of Social Sciences & Community Programs, with over 20 years in post-secondary education. She is recognized for her leadership in faculty development, open education, and advancing inclusive teaching and learning practices.
Laura has held senior leadership roles at Simon Fraser University and Capilano University, including Director of Curriculum & Instruction and founding Director of the Centre for Teaching Excellence. She has led provincial initiatives such as the BCcampus Open Education Sustainability Grant and has been an Instructional Skills Workshop Facilitator and Trainer for more than two decades.
Laura holds a PhD, MA, and BA (Honours) in Psychology from Simon Fraser University.
