Langara Foundation Artist in Residence

Art doesn’t just belong in galleries. At Langara, we believe creativity belongs in every classroom — and our Artist in Residence program helps make that possible.

Since 2017, Langara’s Artist in Residence program has welcomed creators across disciplines — from illustrators and designers to acclaimed photographers. Our Photo-Imaging Artist in Residence stream has brought leading photographers such as Jonathon Vaughn Strebly, Syx Langemann, and Jeff Vanhorn into the classroom, where they’ve shared their expertise through collaborative projects, critiques, and open studio sessions.

Each year, we invite a working artist to engage directly with students through workshops, lectures, and cross-disciplinary events. The results: transformative conversations, new perspectives, and unforgettable experiences.
